As a research assistant
- Develop new membranes (spinning and coating) and characterize them using techniques such as SEM, tensile testing, viscosity, and permeability measurements.
- Analyze and interpret your results together with or under the supervision of a senior team member.
- Maintain and manage lab equipment; for new projects, you may help build or adapt setups (with guidance as needed).
- Work both in the lab and in the office, where you process and report your findings.
Your profile
- You hold a Bachelor’s degree (HBO level) in a chemical discipline such as chemical engineering, laboratory sciences, or polymer science.
- Recent graduates are welcome to apply; experience with membranes is an advantage.
- You enjoy hands-on laboratory work.
- You are creative, show initiative, and like to get things done.
- You work well in a team, can plan your own work effectively, and communicate your results clearly.
- You work safely and neatly according to SOPs and document your work consistently.
- You have strong verbal and written communication skills in English. Proficiency in Dutch is an advantage.
What we offer
We offer a one-year contract for 32 to 40 hours per week (0.8 – 1.0 FTE), with the intention of converting this into a permanent position. The starting salary ranges from €2,900 to €4,250 gross per month based on full-time employment and depending on your experience and qualifications. Additionally, you will receive an 8% monthly contribution toward a personal pension plan and are eligible for a profit-sharing bonus. You’ll also receive an end-of-year bonus (8.3%) and holiday allowance (8%), along with 240 hours of annual leave based on full-time employment. You’ll be working on-site in Enschede during regular office hours.
